Intact Mangrove Forest Areas
Project to develop a mangrove forest resource database by classifying land use in mangrove forest areas using high-resolution satellite imagery. The objective is to create a mangrove forest area database and classify land use within mangrove forest areas, covering 24 coastal provinces. High-resolution satellite imagery captured in 2562 from 7 satellites—Thaichote, Pleiades, Planet, ZiYuan-3, SPOT-7, GeoEye, and Gaofen—totaling 239 images, was used. Land use interpretation of mangrove forest areas was conducted using computer-based interpretation combined with visual interpretation. In this instance, land use was classified into 2 categories: intact mangrove forest and swamp forest area.
